Jean Gassies Ballon vs. Pierre Gassies

Files from Case #333, 4th District Court, West Baton Rouge

I believe this case was filed prior to October, 1829.  There are some interesting comments made from the documents in the preferred section.  Jean seems to have been living in Pierre's house at the time this was going on.  Jean's petition suggests he was like a beggar among strangers, or such.  I haven't transcribed it all yet.  Pierre's response suggests that his wife and family have experienced the "greatest outrages" as a result of Jean's accusations, or something along that line.  Pierre denies that his father is destitute, stating that back in France, he has 2 sisters and a brother with families that can take care of him.
